The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. Hamdard University is setting up Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR) in its campus of Jamia Hamdard at Hamdard Nagar, New Delhi-110062.

ICMR Project entitled “Pharmacological studies to evaluate the effects of Withania somnifera in experimental models of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its mechanisms in rats (P.I. Prof. Arunabha Ray)
Eligibility: M.Sc (Pharmacology/Toxicology/Life Sciences) with 02 years experience or M.Pharm, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH).
Age: 35 years or under, as on 31.12.2019.
Emoluments : Rs. 35000/- plus 24% HRA, per month. The position is purely temporary and initially for a period of 01 year only.
