NIPER - Guwahati is the fifth Institute of National Importance on Pharmaceutical Education under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. The NIPER-Guwahati started functioning from the month of September, 2008. The Institute is presently housed at the NIPS, Mirza, Kamrup, Assam with an excellent facility for advanced Education and Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Presently the Institute is offering M.S (Pharm.) and Ph. D. Programmes in five different branches namely Pharmacology & Toxicology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy Practices, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmaceutics.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 post

Project & Funding Agency : “To study and access the knowledge of traditional healthcare practices and traditional medicines used in tribal population and revitalizing by scientific validation in North East India”

Duration : 1 year 6 months (18 Months)

Project: Ministry of Tribal Affairs

Salary : 31000/- + HRA

Upper Age Limit (Yr.) : B 28

Eligibility : Essential: Post graduate degree in Professional Course such as M.Pharm/ MS/ MSc in Pharmacy practice, clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacology, pharmacology & toxicology/ biochemistry with 55% marks through CSIRUGC NET, GATE or National Level Examinations conducted by DBT and ICMR
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in clinical sample handling, clinical research, community related work specially to deal with tribals of NE states. The selected candidate is also expected to organize, manage the project work and assist day to day research work to facilitate and manage the project work.

Salary : 31000/- consolidated

Upper Age Limit (Yr.) : 30

Eligibility : Essential: Graduate in Life Science or Pharmaceutical sciences from a recognized university with three years’ experience or Master’s degree in Pharmacology/ Biotechnology/clinical pharmacology/biochemistry and other relevant subject from a recognized university.
Desirable :
• Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in clinical sample handling, clinical research, community related work specially to deal with tribal of NE states.
• The selected candidate is also expected to organize, manage the project work and assist day to day research work to facilitate and manage the project work.
• He/she should be expert in blood withdrawing, biological sample processing and storage
• He/she should speak local language assamese.
• Selected person should be willing to travel tribal areas.

Project Associate-II - 01 post

Project & Funding Agency : “National Centre for Pharmacoengineering to fight against Neglected Diseases” funded by Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Research Programme (DPRP), Dept. of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India

Duration : 3 Years (36 Months)

Project: DST-NCPE

Salary : 35,000/- + HRA

Upper Age Limit (Yr.) : 35

Eligibility :
Essential: Masters degree in Microbiology from a recognized University or Equivalent with 2 years of experience in R&D in industry or Acadmic institutions or S&T organizations

Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in enzyme purification and related techniques.

Research Associate - 01 post

Salary : 36,000/- + HRA

Upper Age Limit (Yr.) : 35

Eligibility :
Essential: Ph.D with First class in MS/M.Pharm in Pharmacology or 3 years’ of experience with Fist class in M.S.(Pharm) or M.Pharm Pharmacology.
Desirable: Experience in Nano formulations for herbal compounds or phytoconstituents, cell culture techniques, Molecular biology techniques and animal handling. Preference will be given to the candidates having minimum of 2 international publications in peer reviewed journals as first author.

Eligibility :
Essential: Ph.D in in Biological Sciences with First class in MS/M.Pharm in Biotechnology or Pharmacology or 3 years’ experience with first class in M.Tech. (Biotechnology) or M.V.Sc. or M.S.(Pharm)in Biotechnology.
Desirable: 2 years’ Experience in Gene Cloning and Synthetic Biology

Candidates who are interested should download the application form and fill in and bring the copy of filled in application along with the self-attested photocopies of mark sheets and certificates from 10th standard onwards, testimonials, caste certificate (if applicable), certificate of CSIR-UGC NET, GATE or any competitive National Level examinations, experience certificate (if any), a recent signed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and two recent passport size photographs on the day of interview.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
a. HRA is admissible to JRF/RA only and not to Project assistant positions. The admissibility will be as per Central Govt. norms applicable in the city/location where they are working. The percentage required for calculating HRA will be based on the fellowship amount.
b. The positions are not entitled to any other allowances including DA and CCA.
c. The positions shall be governed by the disciplinary regulations including leave as per rules adopted by the Host Institute where he/she is working.
d. The Director reserves the right to withdraw the post so advertised at any time without assigning any reason.

f. No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication will be entertained.
g. Upper age limit will be relaxed up to 5 years for reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) and up to 3 years for OBC – Noncreamy layer candidates.
h. Appointment is temporary and contractual in nature on fixed / consolidated salary and is renewable based on their performance and mutual consent for every year. The candidate will have no right to claim for regular appointment in the Institute.
i. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
j. The process of selection may include presentation / seminar / written test / interview or as may be decided by the Selection Committee.
k. Age, Qualification, Experience etc. will be as on date of interview.
