Thapar University, (formerly Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology) is located in sprawling green campus comprising of more than 250 acres Thapar Technology Campus (TTC) in the historic city of Patiala. Thapar University was established in 1956 through an imaginative and innovative collaboration between the then State of PEPSU (Patiala and East Punjab States Union), the Central Government and the Patiala Technical Education Trust (PTET) founded by one of the great captains of Indian Industry, the late Lala Karam Chand Thapar. The mission of the University as embodied in the Trust Deed Dated April 9, 1956, are truly remarkable for their scope and vision.

Applications are invited for one post of Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow/ Research Associate in sponsored CSIR project through email (vluxami@thapar.edu).

Title of the project: Design and Synthesis of Tri/tetraphenyl ethylene derivatives as fluorescent receptors and anticancer agents

Duration: 2.3 yrs or duration of research project whichever earlier

Eligibility criteria:
JRF: M.Sc. or equivalent degree with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test.
SRF: M.Sc.(Chem) / or equivalent degree and at least 2 years of post-M.Sc research experience as evident from published papers in standard refereed journals.
RA: Ph.D Chemistry/M.Pharm (Medicinal Chem.) with good track record of SCI publications

Age limit and Fellowship: As per CSIR rule

Desirable: Organic/Medicinal Chemistry
