The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences is a multidisciplinary Institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. The Lunatic Asylum which came into being in the latter part of the 19th Century was renamed as Mental Hospital in 1925 by the erstwhile Government of Mysore. This hospital and All India Institute of Mental Health established in 1954 by the Government of India were amalgamated on 27th December 1974, and thus was formed the autonomous National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS). The priority gradient adopted by the Institute is service, manpower development and research. Multidisciplinary integrated approach is the mainstay of this Institute, paving the way to translate the results from bench to bedside. On November 14, 1994, NIMHANS was accorded the status of Deemed University by the University Grants Commission, with academic autonomy.

Educational Qualification: Ph.D in Biochemistry (Basic or Clinical or Clinical Toxicology or related areas in Life Sciences with basic knowledge in Chemistry / Bio-Chemistry at Bachelor Degree level.
Experience: Training / 1-2 year experience in drug testing, HPTLC Analysis, Gas – Chromatography, HPLC or other specialized techniques is desirable.
Upper Age limit: 40 years
Pay Band: Rs. 15600 – 39100/-
Grade Pay: Rs. 6600/-
Initial Pay in the Pay Band: Rs. 18,750/- + Grade Pay Rs.6,600/-
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

a) The candidates may down load the Challan in quadruplicate from this Institute Website http://www.nimhans.kar.nic.in . and the prescribed application fee Rs. 750/- (Rs. 500/- in case of SC / ST candidates) shall be remitted t hrough any fully computerized National Bank to State Bank of Mysore, NIMHANS Branch, Beng aluru. b) The application in prescribed form should be submitted along with the challan in original for having remitted prescribed application fee as stated above, so as to reach The Director, NIMHANS, P.B.No.2900, Hosur Road, Bangalore – 560 029, India, on or before 20.11.2014.
2. Separate applications should be sent for each post.
3. In service candidates should forward the application through their employers or produce “No Objection Certificate” along with the application, failing which the cand idate’s application will not be considered under the categ ry of in service.
4. Indian Nationals residing abroad can apply by giving full details of educational qualifications, teaching/research experience with c opies of supportive documents together with an application fee of US $ 25 for each application.
5. Candidates should enclose attested copies of cer tificates of Age Proof, Academic Qualifications, Marks Sheet of all the years / seme sters, Experience, etc.
6. No applications shall be entertained if it is in complete/received after the last date prescribed/not forwarded through proper channel. The Institute will not take responsibility for postal delay if any.
