The mandate of the Institute is to address the reproductive health issues of national and global relevance. The institute was established with an objective to develop novel and efficacious modalities for fertility regulation through research and thereby assist the government in its mission to stem the population boom. In the past four decades, however, the institute has grown beyond the mandate with which it was entrusted at the time of its genesis. In the wake of new challenges posed by new socio-economic structure, lifestyle modifications, environmental hazards etc.
Post : Scientist ‘D’ (Medical) OR Scientist ‘D’ (Non- Medical)
Online Applications are invited on or before 30th May 2024 for the following vacancy for the project to be filled on purely temporary basis at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health, J.M. Street, Parel, Mumbai 400012, Maharashtra. All applications will be screened and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for online interview. Title of the Project : “Regional Resource Hub at NIRRH for Health Technology Assessment in India” funded by Department of Health Research (DHR).
Consolidated Salary : Rs.78,000/- + HRA as applicable
Essential Qualification :
For Scientist ‘D’ (Medical)
MBBS degree with 8 years’ experience or Post Graduate Diploma in medical subjects after MBBS with 5 years’ experience in the relevant subjects OR Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB/MPH) after MBBS with 6 years research experience in the relevant field OR Ph.D. in the relevant subject (Community Medicine/Preventive & Social Medicine / Paediatrics Medicine/Tropical Medicine/ Community Health Administration / Health Administration / Family Medicine / Epidemiology / Public Health) from a recognized university with 5 years’ experience in the relevant filed Plus 2 years’ experience in the management of R&D projects in a team effectively.
For Scientist ‘D’ (Non-Medical)
Ph.D. degree in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology subject from a recognized university with 5 years R&D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after Ph.D. OR First Class MPH / Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) / Master’s degree in the relevant subjects (Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life sciences/Pharmacy)/MHA from a recognized university with 8 years R&D/teaching experience in the relevant subject after 1st Class Master Degree. OR Second Class M.Sc./MPH + Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject from a recognized University with 8 years R&D/teaching experience in the relevant subject post qualification. Plus 2 years’ experience in the management of R&D projects in a team effectively.
Desirable : For Scientist ‘D’ (Medical) or (Non-Medical)
Post-doctoral research / teaching experience in Health Technology assessment / public health / Economic Evaluation in recognized institute(s).
Knowledge of Computer Applications / Data Management.
Age Limit : 45 Yrs.
Duration : One Year

1. Qualification/degree should be from a reputed Institution/University.
2. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee for selection.

4. No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.

11. The above post/s are filled-up purely on contractual basis & the candidate will have no right to claim for any type of Permanent Employment under ICMR-NIRRCH or continuation of his/her services in any other project
12. Candidates who will be interviewed online, if they are selected, will have to produce original documents of their Qualification, Age & Experience before joining. If they are not found entitled, their selection will be cancelled immediately.
