Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Biotechnology Research Innovation Council (BRIC), an organization of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from the Indian Nationals to join the following position sanctioned under ICMR-funded project.
Post : Project Research Scientist, Project Technical Support
Project Title : ICMR Project “Creation of a national network of existing and upcoming high risk pathogens laboratories (BSL-3/4) labs across departments and keeping their 'interlinkages' functional for use during outbreak response across sectors" under NOHM component of PM-ABHIM"
Duration of the Project : Initial for 1 year

Project Research Scientist-II (Non-medical) (01 Position)
Fellowship : Rs. 67,000 + HRA per month
Eligibility : Ph. D. in any branch of Life Sciences. Candidates with at least one first author research paper in peer-reviewed journal. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are waiting for defense/viva voce may also apply, but are required to join immediately upon selection (For such candidates, the fellowship amount will be equivalent to that of SRF until the successful completion of the defense/viva voce). Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in Molecular Virology, Host-Pathogen Interactions, mammalian cell culture, small animal handling, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, and work experience in Biosafety Level 3 lab and infectious disease diagnosis/surveillance.
Age Limit : 40 years on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given as per the rules of Govt. of India
Project Technical Support -II (02 Position)
Fellowship : Rs. 20,000 + HRA per month
Eligibility : Candidates with 12th Science with Diploma/Degree in MLT/DMLT or B.Sc/M.Sc Degree in Life Sciences or other allied subjects. Experience of at least 5 years in Virology/Microbiology/Disease Surveillance/ Molecular Diagnosis and work experience in Biosafety Level 3 labs.
Age Limit : 30 years on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given as per the rules of Govt. of India.
Note : The list of shortlisted candidates' names and the date of interview will be published on the ILS website. All the positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview (Arrangements for online interview will also be done if required). The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
