Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) (1 Post)
Applications are invited for the post of "Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)" for an ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) funded Intermediate Grant project entitled Should Colorectal Cancer Screening be Done in Asymptomatic Indians: A Pan-India multicenter Study’ at Department of Gastroenterology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The position is completely temporary. Initially, it is for one year, which can be extended after the candidate's satisfactory performance and coterminus with the project.
Essential qualification : 1. First Class Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry / Zoology / Biotechnology) including the integrated PG Degrees. or 2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees with PhD.
Desirable qualification / Experience : Experience in handling laboratory instruments/molecular techniques, good scientific writing and preparation of research reports. Experience in project Management. Excellent skills in Computer Applications and ability to manage diverse teams will be preferred.
Upper age limit : 35 Years, (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and female candidates as per Govt, of India rules.)
Emolument : Rs. 56,000/- + 18% HRA per month
