The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Applications are invited for various positions available under an ICMR-funded project titled "Comparison of Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, and Dopamine in the Treatment of Neonatal Septic Shock : A Randomized Controlled Trial," led by Dr. Shiv Sajan Saini in the Newborn Unit, Department of Pediatrics, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Project Research Scientist (Non-Medical) 1 No.
S No. : 2
Qualification :  1. First class master's degree in biotechnology, microbiology, immunology, Zoology, biochemistry* OR 
2. Second class master's degree in biotechnology, microbiology, immunology, Zoology, biochemistry with PhD. *Based on the performance the selected candidate may be considered for PhD in the Jan 2025 Session
Desirable Qualification : Preference will be given to candidates who have : 
• Qualified National Research Fellowship examinations (such as CSIR-UGC NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT- INSPIRE) 
• Two years of experience in proteomics or multiomics research
Age : 35 Years (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/wo men candidates as per rules)

Project Research Scientist (Non-Medical) 1 No.

Qualification : 1. First class master's degree in science stream with biostatistics or statistics or computational biology or mathematics as a subject* OR 2. Second class master's degree in science stream with biostatistics or statistics or computational biology or mathematics as a subject with PhD. OR 3. First class graduate degree in information technology/ Computer Science *Based on the performance the selected candidate may be considered for PhD in the Jan 2025 Session
Desirable Qualification : Preference will be given to candidates who have 
• Qualified National Research Fellowship examinations (such as CSIR-UGC NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT- INSPIRE) 
• Experience in machine learning/ Artificial intelligence 
• Proficiency in Python/R 
• Experience of research in medicine 
Age : 35 Years (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/women candidates as per rules)


Project Technical Support III (Clinical Pharmacist) 2 No.
S No. : 5 Qualification : 1. Graduate (of minimum three years duration) in pharmacy with three years' experience in pharmacy OR 
2. Post graduate degree in Pharmacy
Desirable Qualification : Experience in drug preparation in clinical research study(s) preferably involving children or neonates
Age  : 35 Years (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/wo men candidates as per rules)
Emoluments : As per ICMR guidelines (No other allowances will be paid.)

Qualification : M.B.B.S./ B.D.S. 
Desirable Qualification : Experience in participating in research study(s) involving children preferably Neonates.    
Age : 35 Years (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/women candidates as per rules)


Emoluments : As per ICMR guidelines (No other allowances will be paid.)

• Interested candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are requested to submit hard copies of their application form by 5 PM on 6th June 2024 in the Neonatology office.
• The hard copies of application along with self-attested photocopies of certificates must reach the Neonatology office Room No-05, level-III, F-Block, Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh, on or before 6th June 2024, upto 5 PM. Hard copies reaching after the due date & time will not be considered. No online applications will be accepted.
• Hard copies must be accompanied with attachment(s) containing your brief CV (with email id and mobile number clearly mentioned), age proof along with a recent passport size photograph, qualification certificate(s), experience certificate(s), category certificate, and No objection certificate from current employer.
• Incomplete applications or applications not accompanied by relevant documents will be summarily rejected.
• The candidates will initially be shortlisted based on the qualification(s) and their work experience. Only short-listed candidates will be called for an interview. The list of shortlisted candidates for the interview will be displayed on the website by 8th June 2024.

• If numbers of candidates are more, a written test might be taken [on 10th June (for posts S. No. 1 and 4) and on 11th June (for posts S. No. 2, 3 and 5)] at 9:30 AM in APC auditorium complex, PGIMER).
• The tentative date and time of interview for posts S. No. 1 and 4 is on 10th June 2024 at 4:00 PM. The final schedule and venue will be displayed on the website along with the list of shortlisted candidates.
• The tentative date and time of interview for posts S. No. 2, 3 and 5 is on 11th June 2024 at 2:00 PM. The final schedule and venue will be displayed on the website along with the list of shortlisted candidates.

• No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
• The competent authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation, and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason or giving any notice.
• The decision of the competent authority regarding the selection of the candidate will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.
• The appointment will be initially offered for a period of one year and will be extended depending upon satisfactory performance of the candidate and extension by the funding agency given yearly (likely duration of the project 4 years).
• These appointments will be made for the projects sanctioned to the P.I. by the ICMR, New Delhi. The appointments will not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in PGIMER, Chandigarh/ICMR, New Delhi or continued for other Project.
• Expiry of contract: The contract will automatically expire on completion of the project or earlier in case of withdrawal of support by the funding agency. The engagement in the project is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The contractual appointment can be terminated at any time by either side by giving 30 days' notice or salary in lieu thereof.
• All disputes will be subjected to the jurisdiction of Court of Law at UT, Chandigarh.
