Job Description
Job Purpose : Human Biology- Pigmentation Bangalore team are responsible for the delivery of new technologies and scientific claims to support skincare categories, for both local and global brands. The team’s responsibilities are to develop a scientific hypothesis, establish or verify with creative experimental design, identify leads and demonstrate clinical efficacy through human trials, thus offering proprietary and best in class skin even tone mixes for consumers.

Key accountabilities :
The person would work on strategies and plans for the delivery of the next-gen technology in hyperpigmentation/ tanning and heat & humidity protection using in vitro approaches including chemistry and insilico prediction. The candidate will also provide support in the understanding of the bioactive technologies with respect to their biology, pharmacokinetics, formulation, and dermal delivery using appropriate biological and analytical methods to support the current portfolio of technologies to progress into the Category pipeline. A key project across the skincare, cleansing, and Deo category program, the candidate will collaborate and support cross-functional teams. The candidate would also be involved in short term category projects where the person will have to develop strategy, plan of experiments, and deliver results in a timely manner. An essential part of the responsibility would be to review, analyse and document key information to support business for decision making and product launches

• Local and global S&T team, Claims managers, R&D Directors, R&D VPs etc
• Lateral contacts: Supplier partners, Academic collaborators, and Service providers.
Critical Success Factors for the Job
• Work in inter- disciplinary teams that will include product formulators, clinicians, measurement scientists, bio-informaticians, claim experts, both internal to Unilever and external partners.
• Be up to date with the developments in the area of pigmentation & photobiology and able to exploit the tools and techniques in the skin care project.
• Deliver OTIF all technical aspects of innovation and technology projects.
• Work seamlessly with other R&D functions (S&T, category, and claims) to ensure delivery on assigned projects
• Adopt digital tools at various stages of technology identification and validation for benefits and claims.

Candidate Profile
• Bachelors/Masters in science (Biochemistry/Chemistry/Pharmacy/Biophysics) or related area.
• Working knowledge of Analytical chemistry and methodologies
• Working knowledge of bioinformatics tools and databases
• Working knowledge of tissue culture and cell-based assays
• Strong technical acumen and scientific approach to design and troubleshooting.
• Good networking, organization, planning skills, and information management.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work and manage multiple stakeholders.
• 5-7+ years’ experience in a similar area of expertise.
• Strong written and communication skills with credentials of presenting to external scientific community (will be preferred)
