North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, a constituent establishment of CSIR, is a multidisciplinary institute having research areas like Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Materials Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Geological Sciences, etc. This institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art analytical and other equipment to carry out research activities in frontier areas of science & technology. Presently a large number of research activities are being carried out in CSIR and externally funded projects.

Qualification required :
Essential Qualification : Ph.D.in Virology / Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology OR MD / MVSc in Virology / Microbiology with 3 years experience
Desirable Qualification : Minimum one year hands on experience of RNA/DNA isolation, Real-Time PCR, Handling of Clinical viral specimen
Job Description : Candidate is expected to do the COVID-19 Testing using RT PCR & other molecular techniques Maximum
Age Limit : 40 years on the date of interview.
Remuneration : Rs. 67,000/- per month + 8% HRA

Age Limit : 30 years on the date of interview.
Remuneration : Rs. 31000/- per month + 8% HRA

During selection, due weight-age will be given to the academic performance of the candidates.

Duration : The project completion date may be extended / reduced depending upon the grant of the Funding.

Age : As on date of interview will be taken into consideration. (Relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt of India orders)

General terms and conditions:
The engagement will be on purely temporary basis for specific period. It is co-terminus along with the duration of the project and will not confer any right for regularization in the institute. The Project Workers may be allowed to do his / her PhD work based on CSIR guidelines. The candidates should have knowledge of computer for day to day work. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for the interview.
