CSIR-IHBT is one of the 38 national laboratories of the Council of Scientific Industrial Research. It is located in the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar mountain range at an elevation of 1300 m amsl. The Institute has a focus to develop technologies for boosting bioeconomy through sustainable utilization of Himalayan bioresources for societal, industrial and environmental benefits. The institute has successfully carried out mission-oriented projects on medicinal plants, aromatic plants, Himalayan floriculture, tea and selected crops of industrial significance.

Project Scientist-ll

Maximum Age (As on date of interview) : 40 years

Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : Rs 67,000/-p.m. (Fixed) + HRA

Educational Qualification(s) Essential / Desirable :
Qualification : Ph.D. in Virology / Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology or any branch of Life Sciences.
Desirable : Working experience in qRT- PCR and data analysis.

Job Description : Successful candidate is expected to work on testing of COVID-19 using methods such as Quantitative RT-PCR.

Tenure : Initially for one year and likely to be extended.

Project Assistant-ll

Maximum Age (As on date of interview) : 30 years

Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : Rs 31,000/-p.m. + HRA

Educational Qualification(s) Essential / Desirable :
Qualification : M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry or any branch of Life Sciences.
Desirable : Working experience in molecular biology, RNA extraction, PCR etc.

Job Description : Successful candidate is expected to work on testing of COVID-19 using methods such as Quantitative RT-PCR.

Tenure : Initially for one year and likely to be extended.

Age Relaxation:
5 years for SC / ST / Women, 3 years for OBC and widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried are allowed age concession upto the age of 35 years, (upto 40 years for members of SC / STs).

The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upto the suitability of candidates and needs of the candidates in the project.

The decision of the Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur shall be final for engagement of Project Scientist-ll and Project Assistant-ll in CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.).

The eligible candidates for the post of Project Scientist-ll will be interviewed on 06-05-2020 (Wednesday) at 02:30 P.M. and eligible candidates for the post of Project Assistant-ll will be interviewed on 08-05-2020 (Friday) at 11:00 A.M. onwards.
