Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology.

Post : Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited for 01 (one) purely temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, New Delhi sponsored research project entitled, “Efficient oil recovery as conventional energy using smart graphitic nanocomposite” under the Principal Investigator Prof. P. Deb, Department of Physics, Tezpur University.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Physical Science / Chemical Science / Life Science / Biotechnology / Nanotechnology / Material Science or M.Tech. in related subjects having NET/GATE with consistent good academic career from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for general category and for SC/ST candidates, relaxation of marks will be given as per Govt. of India rules.

Desirable: Candidate with experience and publications (only in reputed international journals) in the area of materials science will be given additional preference.

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (Rupees thirty one thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month for the 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35,000/- (Rupees thirty five thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month for the 3rd year. Hostel accommodation may be provided subject to availability of vacancy.

Duration: Appointment will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended further upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus with the project or until further order, whichever is earlier. Maximum duration is three years.

Age: Candidate shall not be more than 28 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Government of India rules.

Incomplete applications will be rejected. Only short listed candidates will be called for interview.

(1) No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
(2) Those in employment or doing Ph.D. must submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the concerned employer / Ph.D. Supervisor.
