Jamia Hamdard was conceived as a seat of higher learning in Unani Medicine, Islamic Studies, Biosciences, Pharmacy, Nursing and other areas of knowledge by its founder as a means of fulfilling the objects of the wakf. Over a period of last ten years, Jamia Hamdard has emerged as an outstanding institution of higher learning with distinct and focused academic programmes. Graduate programme in Information Technology and Computer Applications and Post-graduate programmes in Information Technology, Computer Applications, Business Management, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy have been started in the last few years.
Applications are invited for temporary positions under the following DBT- sponsored project awarded to Prof. (Dr.) Seyed Ehtesham Hasnain, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard and Head, Jamia Hamdard – Institute of Molecular Medicine.
Project : Molecular epidemiological investigations based on NGS sequencing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates from Tripura, Meghalaya and tea gardens of Assam, NE region
Scientist B (Non-Medical -Life Science): 01
Qualifications: Candidates should possess 1st Class Master Degree in Life Science (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics) from a recognized University with 5 years experience in relevant field. OR 2nd Class M.Sc + Ph.D degree in Life Science (Biochemistry, Microbiology Biotechnology, Bioinformatics) from a recognized university with 3 years of post doctoral experience.
Job requirement: Next Generation Sequencing and analysis. To carry out and co-ordinate the activities as designated by the PIs/Head of Institute and field work as per requirements.
Consolidated emolument: @Rs.48,000/- p.m. + 30% HRA fixed
Duration: 3 years
Age limit: 40 years
Research Associate: 01
Qualifications: Ph.D in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or allied subjects with at least two research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals. Prior experience in handling bacterial and tissue culture will be preferred.
Job requirement: Next generation Sequencing, Spoligotyping and other research activities as designated by PIs.
Consolidated emolument: @ Rs.36,000/- p.m. + 30% HRA
Duration: 3 years
Age limit: 35 years
Project Assistant
Qualifications: Graduate in Science or allied subjects from a recognized university. Knowledge of computer and basic lab activities would be preferred.
Job requirement: To maintain records related to procurements of lab items, data entry, stock maintenance, assist research scholars in preparing reagents etc. and other activities as designated by PIs.
Consolidated emolument: @ Rs.31,000/- p.m.
Duration: 3 years
Age limit: 32 years
Junior Research Fellows
Qualifications: M.Sc in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or allied subjects with NET Qualification. Experience in handling bacterial or tissue culture and drug testing assays will be preferred. Consolidated emolument: @ Rs.25,000/- p.m. + 30% HRA and Rs.28,000/- p.m. + 30% HRA for third year
Duration: 3 years
Age limit: 28 years
