Institute of Bioresearches and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, a research institute under Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, invites applications from the suitable candidates for the following positions for its extramural research project funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
Applications are invited from deserved and suitable candidates for various posts under the following externally funded projects.
Systematic inventorization, use profiles and molecular cataloguing for the sustainable management of edible insects resources for enhancing the livelihood opportunities of local people of Himalayan range of Manipur under National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) funded project
Research Associate- 01 (one)
Emoluments/Consolidated pay : Rs. 36,000+ HRA for three years
Duration of project : Three years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier
Qualification :
Essential: Ph.D in Life Science/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or any other relevant discipline
Desirable: Research experience in Genomics, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics
Junior Project Fellow-03 (three)
Emoluments/Consolidated pay : Rs. 16,000+ HRA for the first two years and Rs. 18,000 + HRA for third year
Duration of project : Three years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier
Qualification :
Essential: Post Graduate degree in basic science
Desirable: Post graduate in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Science and Bioinformatics with experience in molecular biology
Foldscope Meta-analysis of species composition of the macro-and micro-flora and fauna of the ‘phumdi’ (floating biomass) habitat and the Sangai’s faecal samples, for the conservation and sustainable management of one of the most endangered deer species in the world (Sangai) in Keibul Lmajao National Park, Manipur under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India funded project.
Junior Research Fellow -01 (one)
Emoluments/Consolidated pay : Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- p.m., subject to fulfillment of DBT/DST norms.
Duration of project : 01(One) year
Qualification :
Essential: MSc in Wildlife Science / Botany/ Zoology/Biotechnology /Life Sciences or any other relevant area Desired: NET or GATE Qualified candidates
Candidates should be willing to travel extensively as the bulk of the work will be field –based and will also require extended stays at the Keibul Lamjao National Park.

1. The above positions are purely temporary and co- terminus with the project. Selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointment either in IBSD, Imphal, RCIBSD, Sikkim or DBT, New Delhi.
2. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
3. The upper age limit for Junior Project Fellow, Junior Research Fellow shall be 28 years and for Research Associate shall be 35 years (relaxable for reserved categories as per G2oI norms).
