The ICMR has always attempted to address itself to the growing demands of scientific advances in biomedical research on the one hand, and to the need of finding practical solutions to the health problems of the country, on the other. The ICMR has come a long way from the days when it was known as the IRFA, but the Council is conscious of the fact that it still has miles to go in pursuit of scientific achievements as well as health targets.
The following posts are to be filled up on purely temporary basis under the collaborative project entitled “Strategy to study screening of anti-CMV (Cytomegalovirus) compounds from some medicinal and edible mushrooms” funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), West Bengal. under Dr. Nilanjan Chakraborty, Scientist- E, PI of this Institute & Dr Swapan Kr Ghosh, Associate Professor Co-P,I(RKMVC College, Rahara).
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Qualification & Experiences : Essential: First Class M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Zoology/ Botany/ any branch of Life Science(s) preferably with UGC/ CSIR/ DBT/ ICMR NET qualified Desirable: Sufficient knowledge in molecular virology/ Molecular biology/Mushroom biology
Consolidated fellowship/ Stipend : 1st and 2nd year Rs. 16,400/p.m. and 3rd year Rs 18,700/p.m.
Age : Below 28 Years
Senior Research Fellow (SRF) Non Medical
No of Posts : 1
Qualification & Experiences :
Essential: First Class M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Botany/ any branch of Life Sciences.
Desirable: UGC/ CSIR/ DBT/ ICMR NET qualified with at least 2 years experiences in molecular biology/ in vitro virology research
Consolidated fellowship/ Stipend : Rs. 18,700/- p.m. (Fixed)
Age : Below 35 Years
Age Concession:
Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects), and Ex-servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.

• The posts are for External sponsored projects undertaken by the Institute/Principal Investigator and no claim in future for employment under the ICMR/Institute shall be tenable.
• No. TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview.
• Appointment will be on a Contractual Basis.
