The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is an autonomous institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, for a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The Centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus, Pune.
NCCS invites applications for following posts on various extramural projects purely on temporary basis.
Project Associate- II

Name of the Project : Understanding the role of specific serotonin receptor signaling in modulating the antigen-specific immunity to control tumor growth.
Name of the PI : Dr. Girdhari Lal
Essential Qualification & Experience : (i) Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent;
And
(ii) 2 year’s experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable Experience : Experience in animal (mice) handling, Western Blot, Cell Culture and Immunohistological Analysis.
Project Tenure : Up to 10/09/2026
Total Monthly Emoluments : (i) 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through
(a) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii) 28000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

A. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and/or GATE.
B. The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.

Name of Project : Molecular and functional studies on LNCRNA-Guided regulation of replication stress response and genome integrity in mammalian cells.

Project Tenure : 3 Years
Job Description : The candidate will take lead on the execution of the project and report to the PI with research updates in a timely manner. In brief, the candidate will be handling mammalian cell culture; performing molecular biology & cell biology assays, routine lab work; reading relevant literature and participating in lab seminars and work presentations. The candidate will also prepare timely progress report of the project and write manuscript as and when required. The candidate having prior experience of mammalian cell culture, molecular biology and of RNA related lab techniques is preferable.
Essential Qualification : B.S. 4 years programme /BPharm/MBBS/Integrated BS-MS/MSc/BE/BTech or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test.
Age Limit : 28Yrs.
Age relaxation : The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of relaxation candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.
Fellowship : Rs. 37000/- + HRA in first and second years Rs. 42000/- + HRA in 3 upon upgradation.

Other important Points
1. The Director (Additional Charge), NCCS reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process, if required.
2. The prescribed educational qualifications and experience are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be called for Walk in Interviews. The Centre reserves the right to call for Walk in Interviews only those candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable.
3. Candidates not having Final / Provisional Degree certificate as per the Essential qualification signed by the Institutional/ University Competent authority are not eligible to apply.
4. The above advertised positions are filled up purely on temporary basis for the limited time on the extramural projects funded by various funding agencies. The position will automatically co-terminus on the completion of the candidate’s tenure. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in funding agency or in NCCS, Pune.
5. Fellowship/Emoluments: Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under project will he made in accordance with the sanction order or latest DST. CSIR and ICMR OM whichever the case may be.
6. Age relaxation will be considered as on the date of walk-in Interview. Age relaxation for advertised positions except Sr. No. 4 will be 5 years in case of Women/SC/ST/PH candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules. OBC candidates must produce latest/valid non-creamy layer certificate. Reservation as per Govt, of India norms will be followed.
7. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
8. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification for the post.
