Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Applications are invited for one post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) with fellowship of Rs. 56,000/ + 20% HRA per month sanctioned for initial one year and extended up to 3 years under ICMR sponsored Extramural project entitled “Design and development of pyrimidine based pharmacological chaperones with higher affinity for phenylalanine hydroxylase : Search of potential drug candidate for Phenylketonuria (PKU)” (project code : P-14/0809) at Centre for Genetic Disorder, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University. The post is purely temporary and co- terminus with the project.
Eligibility : Ph.D. in Human Genetics/Genomics/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Zoology from Indian University / Institute with NIRF ranking or those who have done PhD from abroad. The candidate must have at least two original research publications in Q1 or Q2 journals or SCOPUS / Web of Science listed journals.
Desirable : Preference will be given to the candidates having research experience in “Human Genetic diseases / molecular diagnostic / cytogenetics.” The candidate should have excellent experience in cell culture & molecular biology.
Age : 45 years (5 years relaxation for female SC / ST / physically handicapped candidate and 3 years for OBC candidate).
