Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001. Its inauguration was done by the then Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 17th December, 2001 in presence of Sh.L.K.Advani, Sh. C. P. Thakur and Founder Principal Dr. Jagdish Prasad. The College building was dedicated to the Nation by the Vice President Sh. M. Hamid Ansari on 20th Nov. 2007 in the presence of Honourable Health Minister Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss. The first batch of MBBS students was admitted in February, 2002. Post-graduate courses (MD/MS) in clinical subjects were running at Safdarjung Hospital even before the establishment of VMMC.
Post : Scientist ‘B’ (Non- Medical)
Online Applications are invited on or before 15.03.2025 for the following vacancies for the Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) funded by Department of Health Research, to be filled on purely temporary basis at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. Consolidated Salary : 56,000/- Plus, HRA as applicable
Essential Qualification : First class postgraduate degree in Microbiology / Medical Genetics / Molecular biology OR Second class Postgraduate in Microbiology / Medical Genetics / Molecular biology / from a recognized university with PhD degree in Microbiology / Medical Genetics / Molecular biology / from a recognized university.
Desirable : One-year experience of working in research including experience in data analysis.
Age Limit : 35 Years
Duration : Six months (Further extension for additional one year depending upon Performance of the candidate)
Job Responsibilities : • Thorough knowledge of Medical statistics, Computer applications/Data Management, analysis and interpretation result.
• Experience in basic laboratory techniques, molecular biology, cancer biology and Immunohistochemi stry.
• Maintenance of all records and laboratory upkeep and execution and supervision of research work including analysis and report writing
• Coordination between DHR and MRU and within the institution
• Preparation of proposals and any other work assigned by Nodal Officer from time to time.
• Candidate may be required to do field visits or training as per requirement.
• Not less than 2 research publications (accepted) in indexed scientific journals.

1. Qualification/degree should be from a reputed Institution/University.
2. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee selection.
3. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
4. No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.
5. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organizations are not eligible.
6. Written test in the subject area will be held, if required, to shortlist candidates for selection depending upon the number of candidates.
7. It may be mentioned here that incomplete applications, application not submitted in prescribed format and applications without supportive documents asked for, shall be summarily rejected.
8. The Appointing authority has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.

10. If the candidate is not eligible, his/her candidature may be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment process. If the candidate qualifies in the selection process and subsequently, it is found that he/she does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature will be cancelled and if appointed, services so obtained will be terminated without any notice or compensation.

12. The above post/s are purely on contractual basis & the candidate will have no right to claim for any type of Permanent Employment under DHR/VMMC & Safdaijung Hospital or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
