National Forensic Sciences University, the erstwhile Gujarat Forensic Sciences University is the brain child of Govt of Gujarat. It was established by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modiji, then Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2009 with a sole objective of creating professional experts in the field of Forensic sciences. At a juncture of spiking number of crimes involving sophisticated technologies and much evolved modus operandi, there was a need for scientists and technocrats.
National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar has scheduled Walk in Interview, for the following scientific positions on contractual basis for its campus located at Gandhinagar.
Junior Scientific Officer (Food Forensics)
Age Limit for Direct Recruits : Not be more than 35 years of age provided that the upper age limit will not be applicable to candidate in the service of Central / State / UT Government / University / Board / Corporation
Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits : Master`s Degree in Forensic Science (with specialization in Forensic Chemistry) / Forensic Science#/ Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry/ Toxicology/ Forensic Pharmacy/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Food Technology / Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance. [#Candidate having Master degree in Forensic Science must have studied minimum 4 subjects from any of the above mentioned disciplines at Master’s level.]
Experience : Three (03) years of experience in analysis /research in the relevant field in Government organization/ recognized laboratory / research institute or equivalent Industrial experience
Desirable : Ph.D. in relevant discipline Technical expertise and relevant experience in method development and method validation on high end technologies such as LC-HRMS or GC/HRMS. Knowledge of Quality process as per ISO/IEC17025:2017 & ISO 9001 :2015
Junior Scientific Officer (NDPS)
Age Limit for Direct Recruits : Not be more than 35 years of age provided that the upper age limit will not be applicable to candidate in the service of Central / State / UT Government / University / Board / Corporation.
Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits : Master’s degree in Forensic Science (with Forensic Chemistry as a specialization)/Forensic Science#/ Chemistry/Biochemistry/Forensic Pharmacy/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance from recognized University/ Institute. [#Candidate having Master degree in Forensic Science must have studied minimum 4 subjects from any of the above mentioned disciplines at Master’s level.]
Experience : Three (03) years of experience in Analysis / Research in the relevant field in any Central / State / UT Government organization or recognized laboratory / research institute or equivalent Industrial experience.
Desirable : Ph.D.in relevant discipline Experience in the field of Analytical Forensic Chemistry or Narcotics Drugs testing Knowledge of Quality process as per ISO/IEC17025:2017 & ISO 9001 :2015
Junior Scientific Officer (DNA Forensics)
Age Limit for Direct Recruits : Not be more than 35 years of age provided that the upper age limit will not be applicable to candidate in the service of Central/State/UT Government / University/ Board / Corporation. Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits Master’s degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Biotechnology /Forensic Science#/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Genetics / Human Genetics / Molecular Biology / Forensic Biotechnology OR B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology from a recognized University/Institute

Experience : Three (03) years of experience in analytical methods and research in relevant field in any Central / State / UT Government organization or recognized laboratory/ research institute or equivalent Industrial experience.
Desirable : Ph.D. in relevant discipline Experience of working in Forensic Science Laboratory Acquainted with Forensic DNA Technology and forensic examination of cases related to DNA
Remuneration :
Junior Scientific Officer : Consolidated Monthly Salary of Rs.60200/-
Other Terms and conditions :
1. The posts listed are temporary positions and on contractual basis for 11 months or till the recruitment for the position is filled against the regular vacancy or whichever is earlier.
2. One set of self-certified documents (degree/marksheet /experience certificate etc.) should be submitted to the recruitment cell at the time of the Interview.
3. The original certificate(s) must be shown at the time of the interview.
4. For the Post of Junior Scientific Officer after the first round of Screening/Skill Test, suitable candidates may be recommended for the second round. The candidate needs to conduct a presentation before the selection committee in the second round and on the basis of the candidate’s performance, consideration for the contractual appointment will be made.
5. If found ineligible, the university may terminate the contract at any point of time, even after the recruitment.
The selection process/ interview will be conducted on 16th March 2024 at NFSU, Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 10.00 AM onwards. The university may conduct screening test on 16th March 2024 at 11.00 AM in case of receipt of more number of applications. Candidates shall bring Original Documents & One photocopy set of self-certified documents (degree/mark sheet /experience certificate etc.) for verification at the time of the Interview.
