The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Post : Project Associate-I [One Position]
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Project Associate-I on a purely temporary basis under the DST-SERB sponsored project GAP-3159 entitled “Development of preclinical candidates based on targeting Wnt/β- catenin signalling pathway,” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Essential Qualification : M.Pharm / M.S./ M.Sc. in Natural Products Chemistry / Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Pharmacognosy from a recognized university or equivalent
Desirable : Research experience/ knowledge in Natural Products Chemistry Extraction, Isolation (chromatography purification, HPLC etc) and characterization by modern spectroscopic Techniques will be preferred.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a. National Eligibility Tests: CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)/GATE (or) b. A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above
The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project GAP-3159. However, the offer of engagement for the post shall be issued initially for a period of one year only.
Important Instructions
1. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to the above categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
2. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
Online Selection Procedure
1. Application for this position can be filled out online at Google Forms link.
2. The filled-up Google Form should be submitted by or before 07th March 2024 (Thursday) up to 5:00 PM.
3. Application Forms after the scheduled date and time, i.e., 07th March 2024 (Thursday) up to 5:00 PM, shall not be entertained for the interview.
4. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the viva voce on the date of the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 09th March 2024 (Saturday).
5. Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview online through video conference on MS Teams.
6. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
7. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
8. The positions are purely temporary on a contract basis and co-terminus with the respective Project.
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand canceled.
