NIPER Ahmedabad was initiated with three specializations Biotechnology, Natural Products and Pharmaceutics and over the period of time three more specializations Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology and Toxicology were added in 2010. Subsequently in 2011, to cater the needs of Medical device industry in India, another feather was added to the cap of NIPER Ahmedabad in the form of specialization in Medical Devices.

Applications are invited for one temporary post of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position in DST-SERB funded project entitled “Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) and Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) binding peptides through deconvolution of antibodies for the management of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC)” tenable at Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER- Ahmedabad. The position is Initially for period of one year extendable to further two years subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate and continuation of the project. The position will be co-terminus with the project.

Engagement Period : Initially for a period of one year which is extendable to further two years subjected to continuation of the project and satisfactory performance of candidate.
Salary : Rs. 35,000/ month + HRA as applicable
Qualification : Essential Qualification :
• M.Pharm / MS Pharm / MSc or Equivalent with specialization in Organic chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Process Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry
• Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science Or post Graduate Degree in Professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
* Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
* The selection process through National level examinations conducted by central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
• PG degree with 60% marks for GN/OBC (55% for SC/ST/PH) Desired qualification: GATE/CSIR/UGC NET/GPAT qualified. Publications (at least one) in standard refereed journals.
Work experience
Essential work experience : Two years’ experience in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry with well versed in compound characterization techniques (Mandatory)
Desired work experience : a) Work experience in peptide synthesis, purification b) Peptide isolation and characterization c) HPLC (analytical/preparative) d) Anti-cancer activity assay (cell culture and in-vitro assay)
