NEIGRIHMS was established by the Government of India in 1987. It has been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh. It is the First Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and the Third in the Country established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Post : Project Scientist 1 (Non-Medical)
Applications are invited for the Post of Project Scientist I (Non-Medical) on contractual basis under ICMR funded project Titled “Study of molecular profile of Nasopharyngeal carcinoma in the North Eastern region and its relation to Epstein Barr Virus(EBV) infection”
Qualification : First Class MSc / PhD in Biological science
Desirable : Experience in research in cancer including molecular diagnosis, genomic surveillance, serological diagnosis in hospital/lab settings. Experience in overall project management and coordination with clinical sites, imparting training in molecular and serological diagnosis, data collection, compilation, bioinformatics and statistical analysis, preparation of diagnostic reports.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Duration : Total Project duration is 3 years.Appointment will be initially for a 6 months period which may be renewed depending on the performance of the candidate
Remuneration : 56000+ 9% HRA
Important Information :

2. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through NEIGRIHMS website (or by email) prior to interview date. Only shortlisted candidates should come for interview.
3. Date of determination of eligibility will be the date of Interview (21.03.24).
4. Candidates must produce all relevant documents related to their qualifications & experience in original during interview. Candidates not producing the Original Certificates will not be considered.
5. The post is purely temporary on contractual basis. The appointment will be initially for a period of 6 months which may be renewed depending on performance of the candidate and extension of the project from the funding agency.
6. The assignment will be governed as per the rules / instructions received from the ICMR / competent authority from time to time. This appointment will not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in NEIGRIHMS or ICMR or for continued contractual appointment.
7. The contractual appointment gets terminated on the completion of the project or can be terminated at any time by either side by giving 30 days’ notice or salary in lieu thereof.
8. Leave: The leave entitlement of the appointee shall be governed in terms of the ICMR leave policy governing extramural research projects as amended from time to time.
9. Attempts (direct/indirect) to influence the Selection Committee in any way or form will lead to disqualification of the concerned candidate from the recruitment process.
10. The decision of the Selection Committee will be final.
11. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
