The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati is an autonomous R&D Institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The Institute is engaged in frontier areas of research in the specific domain of Physical, Chemical, Mathematical and Life Sciences. The Institute’s aim is to contribute to basic sciences and develop technology using local resources through strong interdisciplinary research approach across different divisions. Institute is equipped with modern and sophisticated instrumentation including SEM, XRD, LCMS-MS, AFM, DNA Sequencer and computational facility for cutting edge scientific research.
Applications are invited for walk-in interviews for recruitment of the following positions on a contractual basis under the DBT-sponsored projects entitled, “Development of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoclays for topical delivery of RNAi for sustained protection of economically important plants against pest attack” at Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) Garchuk, Guwahati (Assam). Eligible and interested candidates are invited to attend the interview with the original supporting documents (e.g. educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), etc.) and duplicate Xerox copy.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Essential Qualifications : Master degree in Biotechnology / Botany / Zoology / Pharmacy with minimum 55% marks
Age Limit : 28 years* - as of the date of the interview
Monthly Remuneration : Rs. 31,000.00+HRA per month, for the candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or equivalent. ii. For others who do not fall under the above category, as per GoI guidelines.
Field Worker
Essential Qualifications : Bachelor degree in Biotechnology / Botany / Zoology / Pharmacy
Age Limit : 30 years* -as of the date of the interview
Monthly Remuneration : Rs. 18,000.00+HRA per month as per GoI guidelines.
*Relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD candidates as per GoI rules.
Duration : Appointment will be initially for a period of 06 (Six) months, which may be extended till completion of the project depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and status of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.
