The ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR-NIE) is a permanent premier institute of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) established on July 2, 1999 by merging the Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy (CJIL Field Unit), Avadi with the Institute for Research in Medical Statistics (IRMS), Chennai. The broad objectives of the Institute cover conducting epidemiological studies, development of human resources in epidemiology and bio-statistics, networking of the various ICMR and non-ICMR Institutes at the national level for epidemiological purposes, and consultancy.

Remuneration : Medical Rs. 67,000/- per month + HRA
Non-medical Rs. 54,000/- per month + HRA

Nature of Duties
• Coordinate and manage the course
• Liaison with online course partner: nodal agencies and other stakeholders; run secretariat
• Assist core faculty in conducting the course
• Work with core faculty for the training programmes of the institute
• Any other work assigned by PI/ Supervisory Officer/ Director

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Name of the project : Online Course for “Rational use of Drugs”

Essential Qualification : Master’s Degree in Pharmacology / Pharmacy / Life Sciences with two years experience in the relevant field

Remuneration : Rs. 44,450/- per month
Nature of Duties
• Facilitate between core faculty of the course and the student in the online forum to address queries and assignments for the course
• Assist core faculty in various training programmes of the institute
• Any other work assigned by PI/Supervisory Officer/Director
Duration : Upto 14thJuly 2022 (extended based on performance and project extension)
Instructions to the candidates for Online Interview
1. The application should be as per the prescribed format (Annexure – A).
2. Candidates should enclose photocopies of educational qualification and experience and other testimonials duly self – attested along with filled application.
3. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application.
4. Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment. Appointment order, pay slip will not be accepted in place of experience certificate. Experience certificate should contain salary per month and duration.
5. No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).
6. The above said post is Contractual for the duration offered. The appointment may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and projectrequirement.
7. The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under NIE/ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any otherproject. 8. TA/DA will not be paid by NIE for attending the written test/interview.
9. The Director, ICMR-NIE reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in thisregard.
