The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) is an autonomous national institute of the Government of India, Ministry for Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one (01) position of Senior Research Fellow or Research Associate in the CSIR funded research project entitled "Evaluation of the role of AIRE in germ cell division and differentiation" in the laboratory of Dr. G Pradeep Kumar at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Senior Research Fellow
MSc/BE/BTech or equivalent degree with 60% marks with at least one publication in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal and should have at least two years of research experience as on the closing date of this advertisement. Must have qualified National Eligibility Test - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions viz., DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test/ Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR Entrance Exam, etc.
Research Associate
PhD (in a Science or Technology topic) or MD/MS/MDS (in Medical Science Field) or ME/MTech/MPharm/MVSc with three years R&D expertise according to the last date of application, evidenced from fellowship or associateship or by date of enrollment of PhD. Those who have submitted their PhD (Science/Engineering) thesis are also qualified to apply for Research Associateship, though they will be eligible for salary at the SRF level till the award of their degree.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in animal handling, cell culture techniques, proteomics and genomics techniques is desirable for both Senior Research Fellow and Research Associate position.
AGE
Senior Research Fellow : Below 32 years as on March 20, 2021.
Research Associate : Below 35 years as on March 20, 2021.
Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
EMOLUMENT
Senior Research Fellow : Rs 35,000/- + 16% HRA per month.
Research Associate: The monthly emolument will be under the following slabs depending on qualification and experience:
a) Rs 47,000/- + 16% HRA.
b) Rs 49,000/- + 16% HRA.
c) Rs 54,000/- + 16% HRA per month.
DURATION
Till 21st August 2021 or the termination of the project (whichever) is earlier.
The selected candidate will initially be appointed provisionally and final appointment will be given on approval and formalization of the selection by CSIR. The salary of the candidate will be disbursed only after getting the final approval of the appointment from CSIR.
SELECTION PROCESS

Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
