The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The primary motive of BITS is to "train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information". The Institute is a dream come true of its founder late Mr G.D.Birla - an eminent industrialist, a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of the Father of Indian Nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi). What started in early 1900s as a small school, blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from the Humanities to Engineering until 1964 when all these colleges amalgamated to culminate into a unique Indian University of International standing.
Applications are invited for a Project Fellow post in the Department of Chemistry at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa for a short term industrial project (consultancy type) on “Development of commercial methods for
(a) synthesis of 4-methoxy-N,6- dimethyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-amine,
(b) synthesis of 2-amino-2,3-dimethylbutyramide,
(c) resolution of 1-(R)-tram,-permethric acid” The project is of seven months duration and sponsored by “ASTECASTEC Life sciences Limited”.

Broad area of Research : Synthetic Organic Chemistry
Duration of the project : 7 months
Monthly Stipend : Rs. 31000/- per month consolidated.
Qualification : M Sc. (chemistry) / M. Pharm. / equivalent degree.
The appointee with two years of post-M.Sc. experience may get a salary of Rs. 35000/- per month.
Accommodation : Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Institute prevailing at the time of joining of the candidate.
The candidates with Master degree in chemistry / Pharmacy / equivalent degree in related fields are requested to send their application to the principal investigator latest by 8th March, 2021. Candidates with hands-on experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry will be given precedence.
