During that time with the help and support of Dr. B.C. Roy an eminet physician and then chief minister of West Bengal, the foundation of the present day Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital(CCH) was laid.The hospital was formally inaugurated by Prof. Madam J.Curie in January 2,1950 and named after Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, as a tribute to and in the acknowledgment of the enormous donation of his land and property for the cause.Initially this was a Cancer treatment centre, which gradually expanded its activities in basic and clinical research with the assistance from goverment funding organzations.This eventually led to the founding of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Research Centre (CNCRC),funded by the Goverment of India in 1957, which was committed to basic research on cancer.

Director CNCI, Kolkata, invites interested applicants for attending a walk-in-interview for recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Department of Science Technology and Biotechnology, Govt. of West Bengal sponsored project entitled “Crosstalk of Delta Np63 alpha with cancer stemness and epithelial mesenchymal transition: A study during two different neo adjuvant chemotherapeutic regimens in oral cancer” under Dr. Dona Sinha, Principal Investigator in the Department of Receptor Biology and Tumor Metastasis, CNCI.
Essential Qualification : First class M.Sc in Biological Sciences / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry with NET (CSIR/UGC) / GATE;
Duration : Initially for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years, subject to annual review of the work done.
Fellowship : Basic pay: Rs. 16,000/- per month + HRA @ 15% on the basic pay +Medical Allowance Rs. 300/-; Total Rs. 18700/- per month for first two years.
Basic pay: Rs. 18,000/- per month + HRA @ 15% on the basic pay + Medical Allowance Rs. 300/-; Total Rs. 21000/- per month for third year as per rules of Government of West Bengal
Age limits : Maximum 28 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement (relaxable for suitable PWD/SC/ST/OBC/women candidate, as per Govt. Rules).
Looking for a dedicated researcher with good team spirit and proficiency in English language to work collaboratively with our project team.

Candidates should bring the original certificates and testimonials in support of date of birth, educational qualification, experiences, publications, etc. and failing to produce any of the above-mentioned documents in original would disqualify the candidate to appear in the interview. Appointment of the candidate as Junior Research Fellow in the ad-hoc research project will not bestow any right for regularization to any temporary or permanent post in the institute or elsewhere.
