National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences is a multidisciplinary Institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. The Lunatic Asylum which came into being in the latter part of the 19th Century was renamed as Mental Hospital in 1925 by the erstwhile Government of Mysore.
Post : Senior Research Fellow
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates, for filling up of the post of “Senior Research Fellow” on CONTRACT basis for the DST-CSRI funded project titled “Imaging Pattern Recognition and Genetic Profile as Biomarkers in Patients with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)/FTD Overlap Syndromes and Early Onset Alzheimer’s Dementia in the Indian Context”, under Dr. Subasree R, Additional Professor, Dept. of Neurology & Principal Investigator.
Essential Qualification
• M.Pharm / M.Tech / M.Sc degree in any field of Science / Life science / Genetics / Biochemistry/ Biotechnology with a good academic record.
• Two years research experience after Master degree.
• Qualified national level exam like UGC/ICMR/DST NET etc or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification
• Experience in molecular biology techniques and knowledge in Genetics and bioinformatics will be required.
• Candidates with fellowships will be preferred.
Maximum Age Limit : 35 years
Emoluments : Rs 35,000/- + 24% HRA pm
Duration of the Post : 3 Years The initial appointment will be made six months, extendable for 2½ years subject to performance of the candidate.
