The National Institute of Immunohaematology is one of the premiere research Institutes of the ICMR, located currently in the premises of the KEM hospital, Parel, Mumbai. The centre, which was started by ICMR to solve problems in blood banking, could successfully initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. Population Genetics, Biochemical Genetics, Antenatal Serology, Immunology, HLA and Autoimmune Disorders. Dr.H.M.Bhatia and Dr.A.J.Baxi were the main architects behind this initial programme.

Scientist B (Medical) One Post - (UR)
Essential Qualifications : MBBS Degree with two years Research/Teaching experience MD in Microbiology / Pathology / PSM from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualifications : Training in Pediatrics, Internal medicine with experience in Immunology.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 Years.

Emoluments : Rs. 61,000/- + HRA Rs.7,875/- pm

Project Title : "Rational use of Drugs"

Scientist C (Medical) One Post
Essential Qualifications : MD in Medicine / Padiatrics / Pathology / Hematology / Pharmacology with one year R&D / Teaching experience or Postgraduate Diploma in Medical subjects with two years subjects with two years R&D / Teaching experience in Hematology/Immunohaematology/Genetics from recognized Institute or University. MBBS Degree from MCI recognized University with 4 years R&D / Teaching experience in Transfusion Medicine / Haematology / Pathology / Genetics after MBBS Degree.
Ph.D. / Pharma / M.Pharma with 3 years experience

Desirable Qualifications : Experience in Prescription auditing
Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business intelligence tools/ Data Management

Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 Years.

Emoluments : Rs. 64,000/- + HRA Rs. 2775/-

Notes:
1. MD / Ph.D. in the relevant subject shall be treated equivalent to three years’ experience.
2. Postgraduate Diploma in medical subjects in the relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to two years’ experience.
3. Not exceeding 40 years. Releaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates SC/ST/OBC in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.

Project Title : " Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research in Immunohaematology and Transfusion Medicine and create a National Rare donor registry."

Senior Research Fellow: ( One Post)

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Applied Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Bio informatics with 2 years experience in Molecular Biology techniques.

Desirable Qualifications : Experience in Molecular Biology Techniques

Age Limit : Below 28 years

Emoluments : Rs. 35000 + 24% HRA
