From its campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai, BITS Pilani offers formal education and re- search programmes in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, Social Sciences and Management. With a view to establish itself as one of India’s top research-led universities and be amongst the leading technical universities in the world, BITS Pilani has embarked upon an aggressive plan to expand its PG and Ph.D. research programmes, while consolidating its UG programmes.

The Centre for Human Diseases is a consortium of 18 faculty members from the Departments of Biological Sciences, Pharmacy and Electronics and Electrical engineering. The present focus of the centre is to conduct interdisciplinary research on Tuberculosis, Schizophrenia and Oral Cancer. This effort is supported by institutional funding of ~ Rs 4.50 crores for the next three years. The present call is for motivated young students who wish to pursue their careers in research using cutting-edge technologies.

• Development of Animal models for Schizophrenia
• Diagnostic Approaches for Multiple Drug Resistant Tuberculosis
• Novel therapeutic approaches for treatment of Tuberculosis

Fellowship
Consolidated amount of Rs 20,000 in the beginning, with an opportunity to register in Ph.D. programme of the institute (if the performance is found satisfactory) as institute fellows or as research fellows under funded projects.
