The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the Central Drug Authority for discharging functions assigned to the Central Government under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. CDSCO has six zonal offices, four sub-zonal offices, 13 port offices and seven laboratories under its control.

Eligibility Conditions
On Deputation(ISTC):
A) i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department:;
ii) With two years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the level-7 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; or
iii) With six years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in level-6 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre/ department; and
B) Possessing educational qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruits under column 6
Note 1: The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation (ISTC). Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
Note 2: Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Govt, shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (ISTC) shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing dated of receipt or applications.
Educational & Essential: Other Qualification For Direct Recruits
Master’s Degree in Technology / Engineering in Bio Medical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Bio Technology or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering or Polymer Engineering
OR
Bachelors’ degree in Technology/Engineering in Bio Medical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Bio Technology or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering or Polymer Engineering with Two years’ experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation of medical devices or in research or designing

Nole.1: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the U.P.S.C., for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates other-vise well qualified.
Note.-2: .The qualification(s) 'regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the U.P.S.C.,, for reasons to be recorded in writing-in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the U.P.S.C., is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from, these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies-reserved for them.
