Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. THSTI is developed as a part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster to be located at Faridabad, in the National Capital Region. THSTI is designed to be a dynamic, interactive organization with a mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into tangible products to improve human health. Permanent laboratories of the institute will come up in Faridabad within one year. The interim laboratories of the institute are functioning from Gurgaon in Haryana.

Post: Scientist C, Technical Assistant (Lab)

Scientist C Rs.15,600-39,100+ GP Rs.6600

Qualification & Experinece: The ideal candidate should have a PhD in any area of Life Sciences with at least one year of postdoctoral research experience in the area of studying host-pathogen interactions in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections. Demonstrated expertise in handling clinical and drug-resistant strains of the pathogen, and analyzing host-pathogen interactions through techniques such as mass spectrometry and electron microscopy is an essential requirement. Familiarity with the tools of Systems Biology will also be preferred.Candidate must have the ability to work in a team and yet think independently. Excellent communication skills both oral and written are desirable.

Technical Assistant (Lab) Rs.9300-34,800+ GP Rs.4200
No. of post/ Age limit: One post 55 years
Qualification & Experinece:
• M.Sc in Chemistry, or related field
• 2-3 Years’ experience on characterizing chemical and physical properties of organic and/or biomolecules
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a matrixed team environment, demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
• Strong team member, able to work well with a multidisciplinary team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
• Demonstrated proficiency of MS word, Excel, Power point and other commonly used web-based bioinformatics tools.
Job Description: Laboratory technicians working in the Chemical Analysis laboratory will be required to perform measurements to characterize the chemical (Protein and small molecules), physical and biological properties of bio- and organic molecules using the following techniques:
(a) Mass Spectrometry – LC/MS, GC/MS, MALDI-TOF
(b) Evaporative sample preparation techniques
(c) Infrared spectroscopy – static and mobile platforms
(d) Chromatography – ion, gas, liquid

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. Appointment will be made on contract initially for a maximum period of 5 years with a probation period of one/ two years which may be extended at the discretion of the competent Authority.
2. For the post at S.No. 1 and 2 above, the pay & allowances are admissible as per the recommendation of the 6th Pay Commission of the Govt. of India. Other benefits include new pension scheme, medical reimbursement, LTC, bonus etc. as per the rules of the institute.

4. The experience requirement specified shall be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.

6. The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements for the post is relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
