Post: Cell Lead

Job Description
• Has overall responsibility for delivery of projects allocated to GPD Category Cell.
• Leads overall internal execution of Category development projects in line with Category expectations.
• Ensures all assigned product development programs delivered on schedule.
• Proposes Integrated Product Development Plans, Exploratory Requests, Development Requests and Production Requests, as needed, with timing, resources and budgetary requirements.
• Driving ideation and innovation within assigned Category Cell.
• Allocates sufficient Cell resources to ensure project completion.
• Ensures Site Services function tasks assigned to the Cell are completed e.g. GMP, SOPs, equipment qualification.
• Leads overall resolution of all technical issues associated with product development projects assigned to cells.
• Responsible for assigning and getting access to market and consumer insights and unmet needs, as appropriate for Category Cell assigned.
• Approves Pharmaceutical Development plans and reports.
• Provides technical leadership to Cell associates depending upon background of Cell Lead (Analytical and/or Pharmaceutical).
• Training, professional development and performance of associates and hiring.
• Identify and champion capital equipment in conjunction with Global Heads of Pharmaceutical Development and Analytical Development.
• Ensures that all pharmaceutical development activities conducted with the Cell are compliant with Novartis quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assign CTM within Cells or acts as Core Team Member (CTM) for assigned projects as required.
• Initiates and reports on patent alerts and patent reviews.
• Provides technical guidance to Pharmaceutical Development and Analytical Development associates on specific / daily technical challenges, as required. Requires competencies and skills of Principal Scientist. In addition:
• Strong leadership skills.
•Strategic thinking for leadership of the GPD team.
• Product development knowledge.
• GMP and/or GLP knowledge.
• Analytical & problem solving skills.
• Project management skill.
• Communication skill.

Candidate Profile
M. Pharm / M.Sc. with at least 15+ years of relevant experience. Ph.D. with at least 12 years of relevant experience. India Fluent written and spoken English required M. Pharm / M.Sc. with at least 15+ years of relevant experience. Ph.D. with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
