Job Description
Overview : As a Research Scientist at our organization, you will be at the forefront of advancing our genomics research initiatives. Your role will involve analyzing and handling NGS data of various types (WES, WGS, transcriptome, etc), designing experiments and research projects according to the company’s goals, identifying and submitting proposals for grants, and collaborating with and mentoring junior scientists.
Responsibilities
• Analyze NGS data, including whole-genome, exome, targeted sequencing and more.
• Utilize advanced bioinformatics tools to extract, analyze, and interpret genetic data.
• Plan and execute complex research, including hypothesis formulation, experimental design, and genetic experiments.
• Ensure projects are well-planned and aligned with the broader research goals of the company.
• Write research papers, reviews, and abstracts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Prepare presentations and posters for national and international scientific conferences.
• Identify funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and secure research funding from various organizations.
• Collaborate with other researchers as well as team members across disciplines, and provide mentorship and guidance to junior scientists, research assistants, and graduate students.
Education
Ph.D. in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a closely related field.
Experience
3-4 years of experience in genomic research, either through academic projects or industry work along with at least 2 research publications.
Mandatory Skills
• Strong background in handling, processing, and analyzing high-throughput genomic data.
• Knowledge of molecular docking, screening, and validation is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret complex research studies.
• Strong methodological skills in experimental design and statistical analysis.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of published research articles and presentations at scientific meetings.
• Experience in project planning and management, with the ability to lead projects and meet deadlines
