The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
To work on project entitled : “Research and Innovation in Ayush Component of Ayurgyan”
Educational Qualification :
Essential / Mandatory : *M.Sc. (Life Sciences) or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in the qualifying exam. Candidates should be scholars who are CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualified OR selected through National level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies or institutions, (i.e. DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICMR. IISC, ICAR, USER etc will be preferred.) *M.Sc. degree having a duration of one-year course will not be considered. Selected candidates will have to join at the earliest; hence result-awaited candidates will not be eligible to apply for the post.
Work Experience :
Desirable / Preferable: One-year experience in clinical trials.
Job Responsibilities : The candidate will be a part of the drug discovery and development activities ongoing in the department under the AYUSH scheme.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 33,480/- per month.
Duration : Six Months and extendable.
The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension after 6 months will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
