The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory,  Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).

Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the following purely temporary positions under the CSIR-funded projects, tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu

Project Associate-II [02 Position]

Essential Qualification(s) : 1. M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Plant Science or equivalent degree in these subjects. 2. Two years of research experience
Desirable : Experience in the tools and techniques of Plant molecular biology, plant genetic transformation, bioinformatics, Plant tissue culture.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i. Rs. 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions; ii. Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc in any Branch of Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants, conducting soil analysis, and initiating new trial and research work is preferred.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions; ii. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Project Title and No. : CSIR-Aroma Mission (HCP0007) Additional Requirement: The candidates may need to travel extensively throughout the country for the implementation of the project work.


Important Instructions
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagements shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagements shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project MMP025301 is up to 31.07.2027 and that of FBR020306 and HCP0007 is up to 31.03.2026.
 2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu. 
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject. 
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions. 
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 3rd July 2024 (Wednesday) up to 5:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected. 
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the online interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 8th July 2024 (Monday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the online interview on MS Teams. 
7. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies. 
8. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee. 
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form. 
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview. 
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled. 
12. Candidates currently engaged in any project at the Institute must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications of such candidates will only be considered if the Director approves the NOC.
