National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER-K) was created in 2007 under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizer as a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This followed the establishment of NIPER Mohali, which is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. NIPERs are conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa.
Post : Research Assistant
Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for filling up the following post of Research Assistant under DST Sponsored time bound project undertaken in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER Kolkata.
Title of the project : Creation of peptide based dissipative assembly as emerging soft materials.

Project duration : One Year which is extended to one more year upon satisfactory progress.
Job Description : Research work related to synthesis of short peptides, purification and characterization, study of supramolecular self-assembly in details : optimization and characterization of assembly process, fine tuning of physical properties, stimuli responsivity etc. and finally application of the self-assembled systems.
Essential qualification : Master’s degree in Chemistry/Chemical Science
Desirable qualifications : Knowledge about Supramolecular Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Solution and Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis, Purification and Characterization, common Spectroscopic techniques : NMR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence, FTIR and CD etc.
General information :
1. Age limit: Not more than 25 years as on the date of advertisement with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms.
2. Salary: Rs. 27,000 fixed per month (Consolidated).
3. Date of the Interview: The shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview date and time.
Terms and conditions :
1. The above position is purely contractual and initially for a period of one year. The continuation of the fellowship is subjected to satisfactory performance and review at the end of the year.
2. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview if called for.
4. Applications received after the specified deadline will not been entertained.
