Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited for one (01) post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) funded project entitled “Transcriptomic responses of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis in Xenoestrogen (alkylphenols)- exposed fish” (Project code: PIC.O./SRICC/P-07/1302/3686). The fellowship amount payable will be Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential qualifications : The candidates must be a minimum of M.Sc. degree in Zoology /Biochemistry/Animal Science/Animal Biotechnology / Neuroscience / Molecular & Human Genetics / Human Genetics & Molecular Biology (with 55% and above) and must have qualified (with valid scores) JRF/NET/GATE. The upper age limit for candidates is 28 years (relaxation up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/PH and female candidate). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per Gol rules.
Desirable qualifications : The candidates with sound knowledge and expertise in the field of molecular biology and advanced bioinformatics techniques in fishes will be of high preference. The knowledge and skill in molecular docking, transcriptomic data analysis using R/Python, and biostatistics software such as GraphPad Prism and/or SPSS is highly desirable.
