National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER-K) was created in 2007 under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizer as a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This followed the establishment of NIPER Mohali, which is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. NIPERs are conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa. NIPER is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities to become a globally recognized brand. The main objective of the institute is to offer the following programs. M.S. (Pharm.) and Ph.D.
Post : Research Associate
Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for filling up the following post of Research Associate for the Institute time bound projects undertaken in the Department of Pharmaceutics, NIPER Kolkata.
Description of the Project : The project involves the research on formulation development and characterization of solid dosage forms, novel drug delivery systems or other types of formulations. The project also involves in vitro cell culture & DMPK studies.
Essential qualifications : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch like MS (Pharm) / M.Pharm / M.Tech degree in Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Technology / Pharmacology or relevant discipline or equivalent with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. GPAT / NET / GATE qualified candidate will be preferred.
Experience : Candidates with experience in Novel/Conventional formulation development to improve drug efficacy will be given preference. Experience in in-vitro cell culture studies is preferred.
Age limit : Not more than 35 years as on the date of advertisement.
Salary : Rs. 47,000/- +HRA per month
Project duration : 1 year (extendable subject to the satisfactory performance)
Relaxation on qualification and age : SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates will get relaxation as per Govt. of India Rules.

Terms and conditions
1. The above position is purely contractual and initially for a period of 1 year. The continuation of the tenure is subject to satisfactory performance and review at the end of the year. On satisfactory performance, the tenure may be further extended.
2. Director reserves the right to change the number of posts, modify the conditions or cancellation of the interview.
3. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
5. Candidates reaching after specified time may not be entertained.
