NIT Rourkela is one of the premier national level institutions for technical education in the country and is funded by the Government of India. Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.  The main objective of the Institute is to produce quality Engineers and Scientists in Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in various branches of Engineering and Science.

Applications are invited on prescribed format for the temporary post of “Junior Research Fellow (JRF)” for the Project entitled “Identification and molecular characterization of autophagy inducing chemopreventative molecules from marine microorganisms to target oral squamous cell carcinoma”. Selected candidate may enroll in Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Life Science, National Institute of Technology Rourkela based on Institute norms and regulations.

Job Description : To carry out research work & experiments related to the project on Cancer Biology / Microbiology. Candidates may enroll for Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela subject to fulfillment of all the eligibility criteria
Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship : Rs. 17,000/- P.M. for 1st and 2nd year, Rs. 19,000/- P.M for 3rd year


Essential Qualifications and experience : M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Science / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Biotechnology / Botany / Environmental Science/ Marine Biology/ Marine Science or related subjects with 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA in 10 point scale. Result awaited candidates will also be considered.
Desirable Qualifications/ Experiences : Experience in cell biology, microbial natural products, cancer therapeutics

Age : As per Institute Norms.
Accommodation : Bachelor accommodation in the hostel will be provided and Campus accommodation may be provided to married students subject to availability.
