Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry related to synthetic organic chemistry and small molecule drug discovery/development, with at least five years of demonstrated experience in medicinal chemistry. The candidate should have a strong publication record in small molecule drug design and syntheses, as demonstrated in multiple first author papers in the top medicinal chemistry journals, such as the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. The candidate should also have some experience in working with Dr. Li in writing NIH grant applications, ideally as a principal investigator for applicable funding mechanisms. The candidate will also assist Dr. Li in supervising research associates, postdocs, and graduate students, and help in the day-to-day operation in the area of medicinal chemistry in the Li lab.
