Periyar University imparts higher education through three modes: Departments of Study and Research, the affiliated Colleges, and Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE). The University has 27 departments and 113 affiliated colleges. The University is named after the Great Social Reformer E.V. Ramasamy, affectionately called as Thanthai Periyar. The University aims at developing knowledge in various fields to realize the maxim inscribed in the logo Arival Vilayum Ulagu (Wisdom Maketh the World). Essential Qualifications : First class in Master Degree with following streams M.Sc. / M.Phil. : Physics / Materials Science / Chemistry / Biochemistry / B.Tech Biotechnology / M.Tech: Chemical Science/Nano Science / Biological Sciences / Pharm.D.
a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship
b) the selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, USER etc. / First class Masters with 2 years of research experience.
Desirable qualifications : Research experience in nanomaterial synthesis and analysis

Duration : 2 years
General terms and conditions : The position is purely temporary, renewable each year based on performance satisfaction and co-terminus with the project.
