Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech) is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers. In September, 1989, upon completion of the permanent campus, the Institute shifted to occupy an area of about 47 acres, of which the labs covered 22 acres and the residential campus 25 acres.

Project Assistant-I
Min. Qualification : B.Sc./Diploma in Engg. or equivalent (55%)
Stipend (Rs.) : 15000/- p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 28 years

Project Assistant-II
Min. Qualification : M.Sc./BE (55%) or equivalent
Stipend (Rs.) : 25000/- p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 30 years

Project Assistant-III
Min. Qualification : M.Sc./BE (55%) or equivalent plus two years of experience or M.Pharm./ M.Tech./ MBBS (55%).
Stipend (Rs.) : 28000/- p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 35 years

Research Associate-I
Min. Qualification : M.Tech./M.Pharm.(55%) or equivalent with two years of experience/MD/Ph.D
Stipend (Rs.) : 36000/- p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 35 years

Research Associate-II
Min. Qualification : Ph.D with two years of experience
Stipend (Rs.) : 38000/- p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 35 years

Research Associate-III
Min. Qualification : Ph.D with 4 years of experience
Stipend (Rs.) : 40000/- p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 35 years

Project Scientist
Min. Qualification : Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, with outstanding academic record and clean potential for high quality R&D work.
Stipend (Rs.) : 53000/-p.m. + HRA
Age Limit : 40 years

Procedure:
The candidates are required to fill up application form/apply online. Applications received by 20th of each month shall be shortlisted for interview in respect of existing requirements. Application once submitted is valid for consideration against requirement arising till 31.12.2019. Any specific desirable qualifications immediately required shall be updated each month and applicants may keep checking this site for updates. The list of all shortlisted candidates who are to attend the interview in a given month shall be uploaded on the website by 22nd of each month. The aim is to create and keep ready a talent pool of interested applicants so that they can be called for interview at a short notice based on requirement.
