The Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chandigarh is the one of the six National Laboratories of the Govt of India functioning under the administrative control of the Drug Controller General (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Laboratory has been established for quality control of Drugs and Cosmetic under the Indian Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940. This laboratory is engaged in the analysis of bulk drugs & formulations referred by the Deputy Drugs Controller (India), Assistant Drugs Controller (India) and Drugs Inspectors from CDSCO North Zone, Ghaziabad, CDSCO Sub-Zone Chandigarh and CDSCO Sub-Zone Jammu.
Post : Senior Scientific Officer
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment by the Composite Method Promotion or Deputation (including short-term-contract) to the post of Senior Scientific Officer Grade II, Group ‘A’, in Pay Band 3, Rs. 15600-39100 + grade pay Rs. 5400 (pre-revised) [Level 10 (Rs. 56,100-177500) (revised)] in the Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chandigarh, Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Eligibility Criteria
Officers under the Central or State Government or Recognized Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi-Government or Autonomous or Statutory organisations:-
(a)
(i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/ department; or
(ii) with two years’ service rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in pay band -2 –Rs.9300-34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4800 (pre-revised), [Level 8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100) (revised)] or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department; or
(iii) with three years’ service rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in pay band-2, Rs. 9300-34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4600 (pre-revised), Level 7 [(Rs.44900-142400) (revised)] or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department;
(b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:-
(i) Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacy or Microbiology or Bacteriology or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Pharmacology from a recognized University or Associateship of the Institute of Chemists.
(ii) Three Years’ experience in bio-assay of drugs or Chemical and Physio-Chemical testing of drugs and cosmetics in Government Drugs Testing Laboratories or scientific organisations including research centres or private laboratories approved by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration of Laboratories.
Note. I- The Departmental Senior Scientific Assistant in pay band 2 with grade pay of Rs. 4600 (pre-revised), Level Level 7 [(Rs.44900-142400) (revised)] with three years’ regular service shall also be considered along with outsiders and in case he or she is selected, the post shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion.
Note. 2: The Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment by deputation. Similarly, the deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
Note:3– The period of deputation (including short term contract) including the period of deputation (including short term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other orgnaisation or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall be not exceeding fifty six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

The pay and other terms and conditions of deputation (including short-term-contract) will be regulated in accordance with DOPT’s O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010 as amended from time to time. Cadre authorities/Heads of Department are requested to forward applications of eligible and willing candidates whose services can be spared for appointment to the post by the Composite Method Promotion or Deputation (including short-term-contract) so as to reach the undersigned within 60 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News. LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION
1. Application in prescribed format – Annexure II duly filled in and signed by the candidate and countersigned with seal by the Cadre/Appointing authority.
2. Attested copies of APAR/ACRs for the last 5 (five) years duly attested on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India.
3. Integrity Certificate
4. Vigilance Clearance Certificate
5. Statement of major or minor penalties, if any, imposed on the officer during the last 10 years of service.
6. A certificate to the effect that the particulars furnished by the candidate have been verified and found correct as per service records.
7. Cadre Clearance Certificate.
