Purpose & Context
Oral Care is recruiting a Category Fragrance Associate (CFA) who will be responsible for supporting the development of high quality and value flavours across all Oral Care brands globally. The CFA will work in a close collaboration with our strategic flavor houses and support the Category flavor manager in all aspects of the flavor portfolio including new theme creation, evolutions of existing themes, simplification and value improvement.

He/She will be support the flavor manager for driving the flavour agenda strategically and creatively in close coordination with the GDC /Brand Development and flavour house partners. Therefore the candidate should be able to demonstrate the creative and technical skills to create world class flavours, as well as a passion for identifying and building on the emerging trends in the flavor industry. In addition to creative flair the candidate must have a working knowledge of the technology behind flavours and/or fragrances.
JOB SUMMARY
* Coordinate all flavours activities for the category by closely working with X- functional team (R&D/DB/CI / Regulatory/Supply Management and regions.)
* Expert assessment of flavors
* Training and running of the Flavor expert panel (Flavor Qualitative profile panel) and super taster panels
* Creation of new flavor mixes
* Prototype preparation using base formulation and flavors
* Support the Flavor manager on delivering the flavor strategy across brands.
* Work with the product development teams on flavor briefs and facilitate the final submission.
* Support the flavor manager in management of all interfaces (Brand development, Procurement, and Technical project Leaders).
* Support the flavor manager and CTI on claims support requirements and demos where applicable.

Required Professional skills
- A trained flavorist with masters degree in chemistry, chemical engineering Pharmacy or equivalent with training in the area of fragrance/flavors.
- 2-4 years Experience in personal care or foods with most of it related to flavor creation and assessment.
- Very good communication skills and ability to articulate the flavor expressions and language
- Well versed with the technical aspects of flavor creation and assessment process.
- Should have worked on setting up or maintaining an expert panel or should have been a part of an expert panel
- Should have experience of new flavor creation.
- Should be familiar with basic analytical tests and instrumentation.
- Should be familiar with GLP and GMP requirements.
- Should be familiar with consumer testing of new products and consumer insighting.
- Should be familiar with claim support process.
- Ability to work in teams, good communication and presentation skills
Experience
Experience in new product development and personal care formulations will be added advantage.
