Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, NAAC ‘A’ Grade, declared as the No. 1 University in the country in Pharmacy by NIRF, Govt. of India, seeks applications for various Teaching positions in its Schools/Departments. There is no last date for submission of application. One can apply any time. The University reserves the right to downgrade or not to fill up any position. Applications will be considered twice every year – June 30 and December 30 of each year.
School of Chemical and Life Sciences Department of Chemistry
Assistant Professor (Physical Chemistry)
Essential qualification :
1. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systems is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in M.Sc. Chemistry with specialization in Physical Chemistry from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
3. Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (2) above, candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commissions (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. degree) Regulation-2009, as amended from time to time, may be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
Desirable qualification : Ph.D. degree in relevant discipline with quality research publications.
Assistant Professor (Organic Chemistry)
Essential qualification :
1. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systems is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in M.Sc. Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
3. 2. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
3. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process.
4. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS). OR An outstanding professional, with an exceptional accomplishment established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials
Desirable qualification : Evidence of undertaking leading sponsored R&D, Consultancy and related activities.
Assistant Professor

Selections will be made based on a three-tier system. All candidates must arrange to send in confidence at least three letters of recommendations from persons with whom he/she has worked and who can testify with respect to his/her academic credentials and suitability for this position directly to the Vice-Chancellor. An internal Committee will then make a first shortlist of applications based on our requirement both in terms of level of appointment and also the subject area. All such shortlisted candidates will have to come and visit Jamia Hamdard at their expenses and interact with the faculty/colleagues and also the students. A final shortlist will then be prepared and those shortlisted will then have to appear before the Selection Committee, as and when called, in person or on Skype.
The number of vacancies are flexible. While selection can be made at any level (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor) depending on the suitability of the candidate. Entry level appointments will be the usual norm.
