The National Agriculture Commission (NAC) recommended establishment of Forest Development Corporations in each State to accelerate progress and development of forestry sector. Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation Limited ( GSFDC ) was established in August 1976 and registered under the Companies Act 1956.
In 1979 the Minor Forest Produce (MFP) trade came to be nationalized in Gujarat. The Corporation was entrusted with the task of its execution. This meant translating on the ground the State Policy of protecting economic interest of STs, SCs and other weaker sections, while justifying its corporate status. This corporation gets no grants and budgetary support from the Government.

Qualifications:
Post Graduation in any of the following subjects:

Preference: Preference will be given to the higher Qualification, knowledge & experience with respect to the duties given herein.
Age Limit: 35 years
Duties:
(1) Physical as well as financial planning & scheduling of MFP & MPP procurements from Primary Collectors / Growers / Authorised agencies of MFP & MPP collection.
Timely procurement of MFP & MPP from the area of work.
Proper processing, safe & scientific storage of MFP & MPP
Efficient disposal of MFP & MPP to the purchasers.
Making timely payments to Primary Collectors / Growers / Motivators of MFP & MPP
(2) Training to Primary Collectors / Growers / Authorised agencies in cultivation, harvesting, processing & storage of MFP & MPP.
(3) Gathering Market intelligence from different Mandies
(4) Project preparation for conservation & development of MFP & MPP in the State
(5) Monitoring the cultivation of MFP & MPP.
(6) Planning for nurseries of MFP & MPP, the distribution of saplings to the growers and monitoring the success.
(7) Monitoring the project works related to MFP & MPP.
