The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
To work on project entitled : “Understanding the structural and functional intricacies that govern dynamic regulation of PKM2”
Educational Qualification :
Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Life Sciences and related biological fields from a recognized university with not less than 70% aggregate marks.
Desirable Qualification : Experience in recombinant protein purification, molecular biology, structural biology, biochemistry and cell-based experiments are required. Extensive experience in bacterial protein expression and purification, molecular biology, biophysical analysis and apoptosis assays is desirable.
*M.Sc. degree having duration of one year course will not be considered. Selected candidate will have to join at the earliest; hence result-awaited candidates will not be eligible to apply for the post.
Job Responsibilities : To clone, sub-clone, design mutants, express and purify proteins. Perform biochemical, biophysical and structural biology studies with relevant proteins to characterize their interactions.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 38,440/- per month.
Duration : Six Months and extendable.
The work progress of candidate will be monitored for extension after 6 months.
