Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech) is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers. In September, 1989, upon completion of the permanent campus, the Institute shifted to occupy an area of about 47 acres, of which the labs covered 22 acres and the residential campus 25 acres.

Project titled : Establishment of National Repository for cGMP complaint microbial Cell bank of Biopharmaceutical Relevance (NRGCBIO). Project Code : GAP-0195
Essential Qualification : Post-graduate degree in Biological Sciences / Biomedical Sciences / Pharmacy / Biochemical Engineering with at least 15-20 years of experience in the field of Biopharmaceuticals Research, development and production. Development, Production, quality control and characterization of cell banks used in the development of Biopharmaceuticals (Biotherapeutics, Vaccine, Biosimilar, immunotherapeutics etc). Experience in regulatory aspects of Cell Bank Development, Production and characterization with respect to Indian and international regulatory guidelines as evidenced by working experience certificates. Three letter of recommendation from senior level Industry leaders/Scientists/Faculty to be enclosed along with the application.
Desirable : Should have knowledge and experience of Recombinant and non-recombinant Biopharmaceutical development. Experience in GMP cell banking, cell banking documentation requirement, SOP, BPR etc. Knowledge of RCGM, DCGI, Guidelines to industries, FDA-ICH guidelines Q5B, Q5D and other related guidelines. Experience in Biosafety & Biocontainment Requirements, industrial safety, environmental compliance in Biopharmaceuticals R&D. Should have experience in dealing with National and International Cell bank repositories. Experience in regulatory framework of strain import from national and international repositories. Candidates with Ph.D. degree in the desired field shall be preferred.
Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 1,00000 (One Lakh) /Month Consolidated
Selection procedure : The engagement will be purely on contract basis. Selections will be based on walk in interview in response to this advertisement, on the basis of experience and qualification of applicants. Consultants will be selected on the basis of interview.
