Institute of Life Sciences was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003. Institute of Life Sciences has a broad vision of carrying out high-quality multidisciplinary research in the area of life sciences. The goal is for overall development and betterment of human health, longevity, agriculture and environment. The stated mission of the institution is to work towards upliftment of the human society and generate skilled human resources for future India.
Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following Project position.
Post : Project Associate-II / Computational Biologist (01 position)
Project title : SARS-CoV-2 in India: Indian SARS-CoV-2 genome consortium (INSACOG) Fellowship: Rs. 35,000/- + HRA@16%
Essential Qualification : Candidates having M.Sc. /B.Tech. / M. Tech / M. Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ computational Biology, Microbiology etc.) with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% for OBC/ST/SC) and having 02 years of research experience in analyzing NGS datasets. Knowledge of programming in Linux, Python / R is must. Candidates should have qualified national level exam such as NET/GATE/GPAT.
Age Limit : The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 32 years as on 12.07.2021. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.
